About Empower HER
Their story
Julia (they/them) grew up in LA as a theater, choir kid who hated P.E. It wasn't until a personal trainer re-introduced them to running, where they learned how to take care of their body, gained higher self esteem and body image. Julia studied Psychology in college and pursued personal training based on the positive experience with their past trainer.
For the past three years, they worked in a variety of gyms and noticed a lack of safe space for queer, trans and gender-non-conforming folx to move their bodies. They wanted to create a movement space free of gender-based violence, misogyny, racism, xenophobia.
Julia's mission is to help womxn realize the transformative power of exercise in an environment that supports and affirms who they are. They thrive to create safe, support fitness environments where all womxn work towards their fitness goals, show up for themselves and practice self-care.
Everyone deserves access to healthcare, food, shelter and safe spaces where people can authentically show up and move as they are.
Love is Love. Black Lives Matter. No one is illegal on stolen land.
We believe in the power of movement and its ability to transform ourselves and others with radical acceptance, community and care.

Why choose us?
Holistic Approach
Our mindset towards fitness is holistic, recognizing the connection between mental, physical and environmental factors to health. We take into account barriers which may impact one's ability to receive healthcare.
We believe in fostering a holistic, inclusive, diverse community. We aim to push people to learn and grow past their comfort zone, honor their commitments and show up each day, giving it their all.
Inclusivity
Empower HER aims to create safe, supportive and welcoming spaces for all womxn. We welcome those who identify as a woman (trans, nonbinary etc) and recognize these identities as valid.
Diversity
We welcome all races, ethnicities and backgrounds into our fitness spaces. We create an environment that is respectful, courageous and compassionate. We do not accept discriminatory, hateful or bigoted behavior.
Accountability + Community
We believe in the power of community and holding ourselves and others accountable. We believe in making a commitment to ourselves, to the practice and to showing up each day and giving it our best. We can get through anything with a healthy support system.
